It is hard to describe what a fantastic time I had with SOBOs!

The breathtaking views and the locations are out of this world. But, what truly makes your hunt memorable is the attention to detail and the efforts made to personalize your experience.

Sobo’s LLC is one of the best outfitters that I have had the pleasure to go out with.

Nate’s excitement for the outdoors comes from seeing his clients enjoy the country that he has always been a part of. His vast knowledge of where and how the animals move each morning provides you with ample amounts of opportunities to secure a trophy of your choice. The family atmosphere around the hunt provides an extremely comfortable environment to have a few laughs and enjoy the time spent before heading back to the daily grind.

If you’re in search of an outfitter that provides a family-like environment while securing a trophy animal, then Sobo’s LLC is your place.

Since I was a kid hunting has been a big part of who I am. Once fall and winter came around my father, grandfather and I spent almost every weekend hunting together. From waterfowl, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, hogs, and whitetail deer we did it all. In 2021 I lost my hunting buddy that spent every weekend he could to take me out hunting, my grandfather.

In knowing this SOBO's made sure it was a hunt I could use to memorialize my grandfather. We sat out on a fence line overlooking a field and wood line, with rolling hills, that was bound to have deer passing through come evening. However, we were blinded by the evening sun and decided to close the distance so my optic wasn’t effected by the sun and that’s when it all happened. As we moved closer to the wood line I peeked over a hill to take a look before silhouetting myself and there he was. Bedded down in a meadow we previously couldn’t see was a doe and a wide 5x4 mature whitetail buck at 375 yards. We both got down and crawled over the hill to get set up for a shot. Once we were set up we just took in the moment and watched the doe and buck, waiting for them to stand up. It was probably only 10 minutes we watched them, but it felt like an eternity and it felt like my grandfather was there with me. Soon both the doe and buck stood up and that’s when I let the shot off. He buckled and ran 15 yards where he piled up.

This hunt meant more to me than SOBO's probably knows. I was able to hunt in peace, no pressure, and remember the times I had with my grandfather in the field. It was a hunt I knew he would have enjoyed and a whitetail he would have been grinning ear to ear to have seen me take.

Thank you SOBO’S LLC for helping me memorialize my grandfather and get it done.

My guided hunt experience with Sobo was literally life changing because it wasn’t just a hunt, but rather a familial adoption.

The hunt was great, though that was to be expected, meaning that harvesting a mule deer in South Dakota will never disappoint. The land is beautiful, and stalking deer in the badlands in its own was a success. If the unimaginable were to happen and I didn’t fill my tag I still would have had a bit of satisfaction. It simply just does not get better than hunting in the badlands.

The topography is breathtaking and an abundance of wildlife is all encompassing. White tail, mule deer, wild horses were not uncommon, and we even had an encounter with a mountain lion. Watching him prowl from 50 yards away was a near Jurassic like moment of its own. Again, the hunt was perfect, but there was another experience that I had the honor to undertake.

Nate welcomed me into his home as if I were a brother. I equally enjoyed the time spent socializing with his wife and daughters (who are also avid hunters themselves) as well as a township cookout where I was introduced to more friends and family. And with the casting shadow upon todays civilization, it was a breath of fresh air to be surrounded by people where no one is a stranger. Additionally, I was exposed to native cultures that most folks are not aware of that are still in celebration today.

Furthermore, with Nate being a retired veteran, I had the honor to hear some old war stories. Another culture that most are absent from. I am honest in expressing that I truly don’t believe there is a better way to spend your time and money. My initial thoughts were that Nate was going to drive me to some kind of plotted deer ranch and we would sit parked in a truck, pick my deer and fill my tag, making for sausage and a shoulder mount. Wrong impression.

We traversed countless acres of beautiful open country that Nate knew as if he had been hunting it his entire life… because he has. He knows where to find the big ones because he had been stalking them for years. Once I found the buck I wanted, we set up the shot and Nate whispered to me “ok brotha, steady your breath and take the shot.” Well no need my friend, for my breath was taken as the sun pierced the horizon hours ago. I cannot but over recommended this hunt. Thank you Mr. Sobolewski and family. I could humbly never hunt again yet know I retired on top from this once in a lifetime experience.
